Saint Joseph Statue and Prayer to Sell Your House

Statue of Saint Joseph

Are you having trouble selling your home? Really hoping to get top dollar? Wondering if there’s a miracle prayer to sell a house? There may be. According to the legend of St. Joseph, if you follow a few simple rules, you will receive an offer that will lead to the sale of your home, soon. Whether or not you believe in it, in today’s market, you may want to give it a try just in case.

Does Burying St. Joseph Work?

St. Joseph is one of the most recognizable figures from the Christian religion. He’s the patron saint of carpenters, families, and working people. He’s most well known as the man that married Mary even though she was pregnant with Jesus at the time. It’s a respectable figure even for those who don’t follow the Catholic faith.

Why does this help you if you plan to sell your home? Some may say that the St. Joseph Statute doesn’t work, that it does not produce a faster sale or a better sale price. For others, though, there’s evidence that it may help, even if it seems like an odd practice.

Take a Look at the History

It’s hard to pinpoint the specific origin of the Novena prayer to sell a house. However, the most reputable story dates back to a convent in the 16th century. The legend says that St. Teresa of Avila needed to buy land for the building of the convent. She buried St. Joseph medals and prayed to him, asking for guidance. Soon, the land became available, allowing for the convent to be built.

From that point, the legend grew. For example, in Germany, it was common for carpenters building a home to bury a statue of St. Joseph, their patron saint, in the foundation. It was said to help ensure the building of the property was successful. Plenty of other legends are out there that could also be contributing factors to the ritual many homeowners follow now.

Is Burying St. Joseph Sacrilegious?

Is it okay to bury St. Joseph like this? It may not seem to be ideal or even respectful to do so. The Catholic Church does not recommend or even acknowledge the belief that St. Joseph can help a person to sell a home. However, it does emphasize that putting faith in God can help you in all things.

Let’s Say You Want to Give It a Try

The miracle prayer to sell a house is something that may help you have that faith. If you want to do so, there are a few things to remember. First, remember there’s no official way to do so (and there are no repercussions for doing it improperly). Here are some tips to help you.

You May Find a St. Joseph Home Sales Kit Out There

You need to have a statue of St. Joseph to bury. You can buy these online, and you don’t have to purchase a St. Joseph home sales kit to do so. However, most are smaller statues or pendants that feature the saint on them.

How to Bury Him

Once you have the statute, you are supposed to bury it in your front yard. Most of the time, the “rules” say to place it near the for sale sign and at least 12 inches deep. Some say you should place the statue closer to the road or facing it. Others say to plant it upside-down so that the statue tries to support the sale of the home so that he can become unstuck. There’s really no wrong way to do so. Some people also say you can just place the saint’s statue in your home (which may be best for those who aren’t happy about burying it!)

Then, Start Praying

The Bury St. Joseph to sell a house prayer isn’t very specific either. As with all aspects of the Catholic faith, any prayer you say, even one you make up, is going to be heard. You can pray that your home is sold all you want.

Whether or not the actual process of selling a home is made faster or with a better outcome due to the statue in your front yard isn’t clear. However, most people do believe that you have to put in the work if you want good things to happen for yourself. In other words, make sure your home is in the best condition and work with the right people. It may also be valuable to ensure that you are pricing it right and marketing it.

Will the St. Joseph legend help you sell your home? At least there’s no real cost to doing this, and there’s no harm in giving it a try. For many, it can give you something to do each day to encourage the sale of your home.
